Amazon.com Product Description The game of tennis is changing, and one of Head's key goals is to create specific technologies that ideally fit players' varied needs. That's why the company developed Liquidmetal technology, a revolutionary new material that produces a unique blend of power and control. The unique Liquidmetal atomic structure is 2-1/2 times stronger than titanium and delivers 29 percent more power. That means faster serves, better returns, and superior volleys. The secret to Liquidmetal's performance is its liquid atomic structure, which does not deform on impact. This allows Liquidmetal racquets to efficiently utilize the pure energy of each ball impact rather than losing it during the swing. Head takes full advantage of Liquidmetal by applying it to four strategic areas of the Liquidmetal 8's head, letting you power through the ball with confidence. The Liquidmetal 8 racquet also employs several other Head technologies. The racquet's Total Sweetspot Construction (TSC), for example, offers an innovative corrugated structure that increases the torsional stability in the racquet head. This corrugation extends the sweet spot through the entire head, resulting in superior control. Now you'll feel like you've hit the sweet spot with every shot. The racquet also includes Head's NoShox dampening system, which consists of a unique memory foam integrated into the racquet handle. The NoShox system significantly reduces racquet vibrations by more than 27 percent compared to conventional racquets, so even the most powerful game will be easy on the arm. Finally, the Liquidmetal 8 includes an integrated string dampener that's fixed onto the grommets. The string dampener reduces string vibration even more, encouraging a more comfortable swing while creating the perfect sound and feel when you hit the ball. The most powerful offering in the Liquidmetal line, the Liquidmetal 8 is geared toward the beginning to intermediate-level player with a slow to moderate swing. The racquet is particularly appropriate for players who need an extra-forgiving sweet spot and a lighter weight. Specifications: - Head size: 112 square inches

About Head Head's roots trace back to 1950, when Howard Head--the inventor of the first metal ski--founded the company. Head added the Tyrolia bindings and Mares diving brands in the 1970s, and more recently acquired the Penn ball and Dacor diving brands in the 1990s. Although the parent company is organized into four divisions--winter sports, racquet sports, diving, and licensing--Head itself is primarily focused on racquet games, including tennis, squash, paddle, racquetball, and badminton. Head has locations throughout the world, but maintains its U.S. operations in Norwalk, Connecticut, and Phoenix, Arizona.

Excellent racket March 11, 2010 H. Nguyen If you want to play tennis at a competitive level, but not professional, then I found this to be a great racket. The grip is very durable and comfortable and the frame is solid. The resiliancy of the strings is anything you want as you can easily switch out the strings with this racket.
excellent. February 2, 2010 Peter Cho (Vancouver) Quality was great. I am a mid level player that is getting back into the swing. I may have to restring for my own playing style. However, this is a great raquet. light with a big sweet spot.
Not as good as I expected February 1, 2010 L. Tran (Bay Area) Weight is a little heavy for my style, however its weight can be helpful if you need more power on your serve. Its string lose tension pretty quick, kind of disappointed.
Outstanding Racquet & great service. October 14, 2009 Me 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was very enthusiastic about learning to play tennis, and researched what racquet to buy. The Head Liquidmetal 8 racquet was just about the only racquet for beginners that was reviewed. Well that's not a problem, that's efficient because this is the only racquet to buy if you are a beginner who is serious about learning to play. From the moment I held it, I knew that it was fabulous and it hasn't let me down in actual play. I LOVE THIS RACQUET. I bought it through Amazon from Midwest Sports and also couldn't have been happier with the service.
Great racquet for the price October 11, 2009 D. Nibarger (Kingston, JA) This racquet is great for someone like me, who is athletic, but beginning tennis. It it responsive so I can try so shots as I improve, but it has good power behind it when I miss hit.
