| Editorial Reviews:
amazon.com This important collection is the greatest hits of Chauncey Olcott. As an early American actor and songwriter, Olcott recorded some of the earliest musical recordings in the history of recorded sound. This greatest hits collection includes an excellent selection of these recordings including hit songs When Irish Eyes Are Smiling and Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral. The Chauncey Olcott collection should not be passed up by fans of early minstrel music, Irish song and enthusiasts of early recorded music.

| Customer Reviews: Betsy-Tacy connection November 18, 2009 R. Charpentier (Spokane Valley, Washington) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
What a find for Betsy-Tacy fans, and if you know Betsy-Tacy, you know Mr. Olcott truly did have "greatest hits"! It's like a little piece of Betsy come to life and reaching into the future for a "Somewhere in Time" type connection. Maud Hart Lovelace would love this CD, though Julia would have been a little condescending.
Chauncey Olcott Greatest Hits June 23, 2008 Chauncey O. Johnstone 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What a treasure. A must for anyone who wants to hear the voice of the man who started it all in America. The only downside is that the makers did not take the time to enhance the music by removing some of the old recording sounds, which should be possible. This is the kind of album that would make St Patricks day a great hit. FYI, "Irish Eyes are Smiling" was played from the CD, and the audience was asked to join in, which they did, at the tribute for Tim Russert in Buffalo, NY on June 28th.
